The big city

New York is amazing! It may be hectic (Millions of people on the streets), noises (Constant sirens), and smells (garbage on the streets) but it is absolutely the coolest place on earth. I’ve been here for a few days now and I don’t want to leave.

Activities have included: Eating at nice restaurants, riding bikes through the streets while Scott is filming backwards (not dangerous at all), a train ride north with Melitza to a great little village called Cold Spring, and walking the streets of the multicultural mecca of Queens. I am in love with this place.

I travel to foreign countries to experience different cultures. It is the joy of exploring and is what makes me feel alive and connected to this world. Here in New York though, all you have to do is walk down any street and you’ll get a world tour in 5 minutes. Foreign languages, exotic foods and every color of skin imaginable. I’m in constant awe as I explore the streets, the subways, and the parks. I’m like a curious little boy, lost in a land of wonder and surprises. And everyone seems to get along and live in harmony. You’ve got Mexican restaurants right next to Chinese barber shops, connected to a Greek law firm, a Brazilian barbque, a Middle Eastern Falafel cart and a Slavic sports bar. I’m in heaven!

Thanks to Melitza for showing me this wonderful world. It’s good to have a local guide, (Especially one who is very beautiful and fun to kiss)

I think my time in Boulder is ticking down, the magic of New York is pulling me in.  But until then….Tomorrow we continue the ride south.

A Greek law firm does sound like heaven!

Glad you’re enjoying it, my man. Say hi to the naked cowboy for me.

Since you are in New York I thought you may enjoy a post from David Byrne from the Talking Heads on how New Yorkers get around on their bike. Check it out here http://journal.davidbyrne.com/2007/10/10072007-how-ne.html
