Rhode Island is not an Island
Hello there, it’s 6:30pm Eastern Time and I’m coming to you live from my tent, which is safely situated behind a highway bar. This is my first backyard bar camping experience and I like it. I just ate a brownie sundae, chatted with the locals (they hate New York) and listened to “Free Bird.” Fitting. The place is nice, dark, cozy and filled with posters of the Patriots. ‘World Champions 2004′ We rode by Foxboro stadium by the way, it’s in the middle of nowhere. The accent is different here, it’s a mix of Boston and New York with a hint of Rocky Balboa. It’s funny on guys, not so sexy on women.
Today was our first day riding with Evan, we picked him up in Boston and now the team is complete. Here is a fun fact about Evan, he is refraining from dairy this week because he believes that it will reduce the acne on his back. Evan is a nice guy, even if he has acne on his back.
We left the means streets of Boston this morning and after an hour of fighting through traffic, we made it back to the lovely New England roads, lined with trees, houses with huge yards and Dunkin Donuts. The trees by the way are getting ready to explode with color. They are teasing the world with a subtle hint of color right now but I know they have beautiful surprises in store.
The plan tomorrow is to cruise into Connecticut, get a ferry at New London and get to the tippy tip of Long Island. Hamptons here we come!
