No sleep till Portland!
Last night was like Christmas Eve. I was restless, my mind was buzzing, I was WIRED! I looked at the clock after tossing and turning for hours, it was 2:45am, my alarm went off at 3:30am. 45 minutes of sleep is all a Duzer needs.
I thought I would sleep on the bus to the airport..didn’t. Thought I would sleep on the plane, Couldn’t. Too much to see, too much to think about. I can sleep another day.
Portland is beautiful, clean, quiet and full of nature. What makes it even more beautiful are people like Larry and Diane. They don’t know us, we don’t know them. But they treat us as if we are sons.
Larry and his 14 year old doggie Ralph (long haired Dachshund) took us on a tour of the city. Ralph sat in my lap, the bikes were crammed in back of the Subaru with Scott pressed in somewhere, I don’t know where. He showed us the quaint islands surrounding Casco Bay and a lobster farm. They don’t say lobSTER, it’s lobSTA. The leaves are changing colors, the air is cool. It’s autumn in the Northeast.
Larry and Diane have a trampoline in their backyard, it is endless fun. I may never leave. But wait! I’m here to ride and tomorrow we shall. The bikes are ready, they survived the flight, all I need now is some sleep…or do I?
I can’t believe you are off again. I am so excited for you! You should of eaten the lobster… it would have tasted fantastic. Send me some in the mail.
