Happy Thursday!
Remember the cool camping spot on the train tracks? Well, Mr. Amtrack called Mr. Law and we got busted, in the dark, red handed. Moving tents after getting situated is not fun, but we did it…all part of the fun.
I’ve seen Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusets in these three days. They all look the same, old victorian houses with American flags out front, drivers who don’t especially like us and lots of pumpkins. They seem to love Halloween decorations here, the gaudy ones too. Every other house has a big inflatable Frankensein archway in the yard. Speaking of yards, they are huge and very green. Inspires me to play some croquet.
It was hot today, 85 degrees! I love it though, bring on the heat. I already have a great spandex tan on my legs, something I didn’t expect until Florida. But with heat brings lots of sweat and with sweat you get a stinky Duzer. But who cares, I’m not trying to impress any ladies…not yet.
I met mom today. Yes, my mom just happens to be on the east coast visiting Nana. Nana is my grandma, she is sweet, her har is even more white than my mom’s. They are a cute team. Anyway, Nana promised me a beer so I rode with extra determination. You cannot pass up a Nana bought beer, they taste better. We met in the funky town of Ayer Mass. Also the birthplace and wedding place of my mom. The town is not so nice, let’s just say that I wouldn’t want to get married there.
We met at an Irish bar, drank Sam Adams and ate nachos, it was a beautiful moment. The quick date was over in two quick hours, Nana had to return to her beloved dog. She loves her dog more than me, I should have shaved ;(
Now we are camped in the backyard of Carl, he worked for my grandfather in the military, he has lots of stories, and guns. When we pulled up to the house the neighbors were all abuzz about a wolf they had just seen. Could be another interesing night, I’ll take a police raid anyday over a wolfpack. Life is exciting!
Tomorrow to Boston, go RedSox!
Duzer – I am already totally already addicted to your blog and wake up each morning like a little kid on Christmas running to the computer to read about my old friends new adventures. I was glad to read that my boss’ home in KenneBunk was clear of terrorists. I guess that means that our great men and women in uniform are doing their job and keeping us safe. Good luck on the remainder of the trip as I am already looking forward to reading about you tomorrow and living vicariosly through you. Cheers!!!
Busted! How could they bust two such upstanding young men! Ah well, I warned you about those New England drivers! Diana and I look forward to more videos of your travels!
