San Diego Ho!
The bike made it into the box…barely and I made it to my gate…barely and now I’m ready to ride…barely.
The story of today: So I got some new fancy smanshy custom made handle bars shipped to me this morning, very exciting! So I threw off the other clunkers and put the shiny new ones in the box…but without testing first to see if they fit…this would later prove very frustrating when I unpacked the bike in S.D. and started to assemble everything and realized…oh crap! They don’t fit..not even close. I’m pretty good at riding ‘look mom no hands’ but not for 3,000 miles.
So tomorrow I will race around S.D. and try to find new bars, or a new stem that will fit my new bars..all before noon when I need to be in Oceanside for the start of RAAM at 2pm.
The good part of all this is that I’m being hosted by the coolest people in the world, Richie and Ro, I met them on a photo shoot in Baja last summer and they are the definition of good hearted awesome people
I’m so excited to start pedaling tomorrow, with or without handlebars. Washington DC here I come!!
